Possibly, but I'm not the creative sort, I try to make other peoples ideas work. And the last 2 times, people went "can you not just keep it mostly the same" ;)

Trouble Ticket Response To Ticket
« on: January 31, 2010, 12:21:12 »
Here is response to my support ticket.

Hello,

It looks as though the server\'s outage was due to a hardware related issue. One of the hard drives may not have been performing correctly. We are currently running an FSCK (File System Check) to isolate/fix the issue and to avoid any data corruption. The estimated time for this to be completed is several hours. Unfortunately, the server must remain down while this is running. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you.

Note Michael's message in the shout box. You have issues with your connection there is no way the forum could cause that and by this message it is quite clear why there was a problem with a hard drive on the hosts server.

I would therefore be grateful if you just put a message in this section rather than causing a potential scare by allowing any visitor to read that crap you posted ;)

What mike posted has some truth in it, My old internet connection at Norwich would be connecting to certain websites, then it would stop halfway through loading and pull me off of TS, Steam, anything.. Except MSN. (which was very weird) but only on certain websites Such as our forums, Newgrounds, TheRegister etc..

But it's very annoying, leaves you only able to speak to chavs on MSN for around 3 - 5 minutes, then reconnect to everything even the website, and everything works like normal.

Probably just Norwich though ;)

I have problems akin to this when using a download manager with Rapidshare. It tends to leave 100s of connections open waiting for an ACK signal from the server which it either misses or doesn't get. Network monitor shows 100% usage and I can't download anything else from anywhere.

ipconfig /release    followed by   ipconfig /renew    neatly fixes this by severing all connections. If you do it quick enough, it doesn't even interrupt TS3 as it opens port right away :)

can also make into bat file

open notepad
add
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

then save the notepad file as newtork-refresh.bat
or if you want to set your ip manually you can use this little tool i made
http://lionelbaden.com/optima/Optima%20Tool2.zip
then use the IP changer
Currently toggles between auto ip and manually configured ip
set your speceific IP in the txt file.

has fun
