Possibly, but I'm not the creative sort, I try to make other peoples ideas work. And the last 2 times, people went "can you not just keep it mostly the same" ;)

Windows 10
« on: August 22, 2015, 19:12:48 »
So, who else has upgraded?

Has anyone had any problems with any hardware or software? If you know of any workarounds, post tips or links to stuff here.

For instance, I doubt anyone will be using Edge for anything other than testing purposes but I did notice that for some reason the scroll wheel wasn't working. After a quick search, I found this fix. The second one is for people who use X-Mouse Button Control, which is a handy tool that supplements Windows or manufacturer software (I need it to make Logitech thumb buttons behave the way I want them)

I wanted a nice dark theme for win 10, this is pretty close and works well

http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?/topic/37886-dark-glass-theme-for-win10/

Be sure to run the UXpatcher first and then restart before trying the theme

The transparency is from a small program that comes with the theme... just don't run it to keep opaque windows :p

Apparently since windows 8 microsoft have removed the mpeg2 decoder from windows and want you to pay for it separately.

so fuck that shit, use this: http://shark007.net/

install carefully and untick the bullshit

In relation to the above, the Windows 10 Media Feature pack still includes a MPEG2 decoder for DVD playback. Unless you installed N or KN version of Windows, it should already be included.

However for other video files, media streams, etc. you still need a proper codec. Either use the one Skunk posted above or use K-Lite or CCCP. K-Lite also includes Media Player Classic, can't remember if CCCP does.
