Possibly, but I'm not the creative sort, I try to make other peoples ideas work. And the last 2 times, people went "can you not just keep it mostly the same" ;)

Motherboard and CPU
« on: February 11, 2012, 14:25:38 »
I've been holding off posting this for a while as I've been looking for myself but to be honest I don't know a huge amount about Boards and CPU's (New stuff that is).

I think I know what CPU I want but anyway I would rather somebody like Lucifer and Killa recommended something because I really don't want to wait any longer to upgrade.

Hmm, no possibility of SLI in the future and most likely the other PCI slots are obscured by huge graphics cards.

Would go for an ATX rather than a micro ATX to have a bit more room for expansion.

Also, if you went with that particular company I'd pay by PayPal so there was some chance of getting money back. Some of their eBay feedback has them not refunding P&P for customers returning faulty items. Also, I seldom trust companies who say they've been in business for 2 decades but their company incorporation date is in 2009. I'm a cynical sod though :)

---edit---

2 things, I'd agree with going for an Asus motherboard, they do seem to be quite reliable and have some good extra stuff in them.
Secondly, just re-read that advert. Fully tested and assembled... Shipping a motherboard, cpu, heatsink, ram and fan all assembled? Seems a bit odd. Also means that someone can palm off returned stock a second time. I'd prefer to open retail packs myself even if it does cost a little more.

saw this a bit late I've already put in an order but I'm not that worried they have been going since 1992 and got a few rewards but what your saying does concern me a little bit, I have payed using paypal already anyway.

I'm aware I won't be able to SLI but personally I don't want to touch SLI again after the crap I had to put up with the first time I tried it and spent a bit of money replacing the cards twice before thinking sod it and just stuck to using one card.

Edit I went for this one.
