Possibly, but I'm not the creative sort, I try to make other peoples ideas work. And the last 2 times, people went "can you not just keep it mostly the same" ;)

Solid State Drives
« on: December 28, 2014, 15:08:55 »
So, I'm finally joining the cool kids and getting an SSD.

Samsung Evo 840 500GB

It's a tiny bit slower than the Samsung 840 Pro but based on the same technology. The 840 Pro has recently surpassed 2PB (that's 2,000,000GB) of rewrites without catastrophic failure in tests.

If anyone is in the market for a new drive, I'd recommend any of those Samsungs or one of the Kingston HyperX 3K range (also as reliable as the 840 Pro)

Well, drive arrived but can't install it today.

Out of power connectors so need another molex->sata power cable. At least that means another day before I have to resort to unofficial BIOS patches, scary biscuits.

It's bloody retarded. You should be able to flash your sata controller seperately but noooo.

Well, got the cable but had a few ales. Install can wait til I'm sober. Will just spend the time getting all the crap I'll need for reinstall.
