Specifically, in this case, For Honor.   The game looks fun enough but hopefully the makers of Chivalry will make a better sequel instead.

I was reading an article on PCGamer about the maths of the grind vs pay-to-unlock.

To unlock every, currently available, bit of stuff = 7.32 x $100 steel packs = $732.  To grind that much, playing roughly an hour or two a day = 2 and a half years

Then there's all the DLC stuff to be added later that will either cost more cash or grind time.


I suppose it doesn't matter either way provided you feel you are having fun and getting your moneys worth. But this level of bullshit is stupid. Hopefully more people will post similar research on other games with "premium" in future.
